Guided tours range from forty five minutes to an hour.

The tour highlights a variety of educational topics such as:

Chinese and the Goldfields;
Dragons and the Bendigo Easter Fair Procession;
Immigration and Intergration;
Chinese Symbolism;
Chinese customs and traditions; and arts and crafts of China.

Included in the guided tour -
the Museum, the Classical Chinese Gardens and the Kuan Yin Temple.

VCE Revolutions Tour

An excellent inroduction or refresher for those studying VCE Revolutions (China). Students will gain an excellent grounding in Chinese history and culture.

Highlights of the tour include many Qing Dynasty palace artifacts, a chinese currency collection and a life-size wax reproduction of Dr Sun Yat-sen.

Historical Tours

Take a walk with our Museum Guides on a 'Historical Walk' around Bridge St and Chinese Precinct, where you can learn about Bendigo's old China Town.

Craft Programs

Several craft programs are available for students of all ages.

Students learn how to make Chinese lanterns, create traditional fish kites, dragon puppets, Chinese opera Masks, create original Chinese folk art - paper cuts, miniature Chinese costumes, a small chinese hand drum, the mythical phoenix, general and princess head piece, origami or the class can participate in a traditional chinese tea ceremony.

A popular program is the Golden Dragon Museum's Chinese calligraphy craft program where students learn basic calligraphy.

Our craft programs have been a popular addition to an educational tour of the Golden Dragon Museum.

Tai Chi and Lion dance workshops are also available.
