Chinese Knots or Sachets The Golden Dragon Museum recently imported from China a large selection of the traditional chinese folk art - Chinese Knots and Sachets. These hand made knots and sachets are used as gifts of blessings to avoid danger and keep evil spirits away. Since the Qing Dynasty, the main designs are flowers, lanterns, animals. Fish for exmple represent abundance or saving money, the butterfly represents falling in love and the character Fu means good forture. |
Ming Dynasty Jewellery The Golden Dragon Museum now stocks Ming Dynasty Jewellery. The shards of broken porcelain have been retrieved from a river bed, where it had been discarded by people living along the rivers of China over the centuries. The shards are selected according to design and quality and set in sterling silver. Lin Naihe - ceramic artist The musuem is proud to stock ceramic pieces by Shiwan Ceramic Artist Lin Naihe - a member of the Foshan Arts and Crafts Association. |
