The Guan Yin Temple will be closed for refurbishment from Sunday 14 February until mid-April 2021. With the support of the City of Greater Bendigo, the Temple’s refurbishment includes it being painted inside and out, the two large trees at its entrance being pruned and its interior being generally refreshed. Some general maintenance will also be undertaken at this time.
In closing the Temple for this exciting project, the Bendigo Chinese Association will undertake cultural rituals and observances to honour and pay respect to the Goddess. Once the refurbishment is complete Golden Dragon Museum in association with the Bendigo Chinese Association will hold celebrations marking the Temple’s reopening. These important celebrations will be a public event and more information will be provided nearer the time so that members of the community may attend.
The Golden Dragon Museum and Yi Yuan Gardens remain open over this period Tuesday – Sunday 9.30am – 5/00pm.
