Conservation work has commenced on Loong to remediate the damage caused on 5 May. Treatment will commence on the other objects shortly.

Golden Dragon Museum thanks all the members of the community who have been in contact and especially those that have visited over the past weeks for their messages of support and best wishes. Your expressions of generosity and kindness, from local friends and those further afield, has meant a great deal to everyone involved with the Museum and those committed to the preservation of our rich Chinese heritage and the multitude of stories our Museum shares with thousands of visitors every year.

An oily substance was flicked on a number of objects during the attack including Loong, the oldest complete Imperial Processional Dragon in the world and one of the Museum’s great treasures.
